Connecting with the magazine over lunch at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, Hoult dishes on working with George Miller on Mad Max. He shares, “The main thing about George is… he’s remarkable. I was doing interviews yesterday with him in Toronto. Just listening to this guy talk—with each interview he’s bringing up quotes from John Lennon about life being what happens to you when you’re making other plans, and he was saying how much cinema changed since he made the first Mad Max.” Hoult adds, “[Miller’s] been thinking about that film since ’99. He’s got such an attention to detail. He sent me Jared Diamond’s Guns, Germs and Steel.
