Henry Kitcher

A British model and sculptor whose individual style has become part of his fashion identity, with a studio practice rooted in the natural world.

Henry Kitcher is a British model and mixed media artist from Camberley, Surrey. His career developed through runway work for designers including Dries Van Noten and Tom Ford, alongside a studio practice exploring the relationship between nature and the built environment.

Represented by Tomorrow Is Another Day early in his career, Henry appeared in HERO’s spring-summer 2015 new-face selection in June 2014. The social side of the profession appealed to him. “I really like meeting new people,” he said, speaking about friendships formed at castings. Subsequent work brought him before photographers including Steven Meisel and Craig McDean, with advertising for Givenchy and Loro Piana.

His own style also attracted attention. A pearl earring from his mother became a signature, its inspiration linked to Sir Walter Raleigh, as The Guardian reported in 2019.

Henry graduated from London College of Communication in 2018. The following year, he exhibited with Tom Atton Moore in mirrors make me backwards but the ground keeps me rooted. His sculptures examined how urban development changes our experience of the natural world, a subject he continued to investigate through installations and work with soil.

Discussing that material in a 2022 interview with Outsider, Henry described a process that allowed him to reuse what remained. “I simply sweep the excess soil into a bucket and use it the following week,” he explained, translated from Slovenian. His installation Enclosure used earth bricks arranged in circles to explore confinement and restricted growth.

Fashion has given that work its own audience. Massimo Dutti’s 2021 portrait series introduced Henry in the context of his art. His modeling portfolio also includes Pringle of Scotland’s fall-winter 2018 campaign and Dunhill’s fall-winter 2026 campaign. The studio remains a separate place of work, where the materials and questions are his to choose.
