Big Come Down–Inspired by the works of New Zealand artist Karl Maughan, Michael Whittaker is enlisted for Stolen Girlfriends Club’s spring 2012 collection’s garden party of print and colors. Exploring the hyper surrealistic realm of the artist, the fantastical elements of Maughan’s work are translated onto an explosion of tank tops, oversized tees and color blocked shorts. Much softer and slicker than past collections, the rock’n’roll label ventures into tailored territories with slim cut shirting, while also maintaining their signature edge undertone with skinny jeans, denim vests and raw finishing.
