At first glance, it’s all impeccably behaved: box-fresh Stan Smiths, striped polos, and an abundance of manicured hedges. But this isn’t your father’s country club — unless your father happens to be Edison Chen with a soft spot for rule-bending menswear.
The latest adidas Originals x CLOT by Edison Chen collaboration retools the sporting uniform with subversive glee. Front and center is the CLOT Stan Smith Espadrille, a jarring yet genius fusion of tennis classic and Mediterranean slip-on.

The CLOT Stan Smith Espadrille leads with one that features a white upper with intricate embroidery. The other uses black jute-inspired synthetics to sidestep the dyeing limitations of natural materials.

Surrounding the adidas footwear is a club-ready capsule that flirts with retro prep. Think crocheted vests, fringed shorts, and camp shirts in a palette of varsity green, cream, and brown. It channels old-school clubhouse style, filtered through the eye of someone who treats nostalgia as raw material, not a rulebook.

The campaign features Stan Smith himself alongside a motley crew that includes Edison Chen, Blondey McCoy, George Russell, and Jashlem. Each represents a different riff on the club code gone rogue, lounging and loitering through a setting that appears, at first, to be a classic lawn club but gradually reveals itself as something closer to a Lynchian daydream.

Available July 12, 2025, the adidas Originals x CLOT by Edison Chen collection tackles tradition, rewriting it in thread and rubber, with a wink.
