Scotch & Soda’s Fall Collection Brightens Up Those Dull Days

Taking inspiration from the outdoors, Gaspard Menier models a riveted suede jacket for $498, a striped long-sleeve tee for $89, and slim-fit pants for $139 by Scotch & Soda Amsterdams Blauw. Amsterdam-based brand Scotch & Soda has released its fall collection, and the men's line is sure to brighten up even the grimmest of days as we transition into the winter season. They’ve stuck to a color palette of ‘muted earthy hues’ teamed with pops of vivid color for this latest collection. Scotch & Soda Fall/Winter 2019 Collection French model Benjamin Reynier was once again the featured model for the menswear collection in their Height of Autumn collection, where we saw these earthy tones come through, layering, and just a hint of bold. Seasonal additions brought a mismatched style and warm orange hues to the collection. Large check print was also focused on the outer layers. One of the more iconic prints we noticed on the men’s collection is the vibrant stamping of the Scotch and Soda initials on items like this bomber jacket (shown below). The Scotch and Soda print jacket has an earthy yellow interior, layered with timeless basics underneath and a pink hoody and black turtleneck pullover. Classic autumnal styles we usually see, such as check, were also in the spotlight; this time, they were enhanced by a metallic thread and complemented with moody blue/green shades to tone things down (Just a little). Houndstooth also made an appearance in the editorial F/W story. Nicolas Ripoll dons printed tailoring from Scotch & Soda's fall 2019 collection. Bold new takes on layering and ‘contradictory colors’ are shown below in the fuschia and maroon mix. All pulled together with blue check pants and a leather belt. Embracing a bold pop of color, Nicolas Ripoll layers in a turtleneck from Scotch & Soda. Earthy ‘sunrise’ orange/yellow tones can be worn together for a statement look or toned down with something more ‘plain’ like S&S’s classic blue jeans. The ombre look of the sweater makes you feel those crisp, cold autumn days. Check print used on wool fabric for a warm yet on-trend look. They are teamed here with military-style boots but could also be worn with smart shoes for a big winter occasion/event. An unusual pink-hued wool-cashmere blend pullover teamed with black jeans for a smart/casual urban look. All about texture: Corduroy is a staple fabric used in A/W clothing; this bold green shade helps make it stand out from the crowd. Peruvian influences shine through in this alpaca sweater and bold print geometric scarf. A bright take on traditional Fairisle knit popular around the holiday season—very 90s inspired.
