Texas Olsson

Texas Olsson is a Swedish model who entered fashion after a professional handball career with Hammarby. Born in Stockholm, he won two Swedish championships and represented Sweden at junior international level before exchanging the court for Milan’s runways in 2007.

His discovery came while sport still occupied his attention. Approached at Slussen in Stockholm on his way to the junior European championships in Tallinn, Texas initially continued playing. By the following spring, his enthusiasm for handball had faded, and a Swedish agency sent him to Milan. Elite asked him to stay for show week; the visit became three months, with runway assignments for Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli.

Speaking to Aftonbladet in 2007, Texas explained, translated from Swedish, “I quit handball because it wasn’t fun anymore, not for the money or glamour of the modeling world.” Fashion offered new people and places, giving the former athlete a reason to commit to a different profession.

Advertising subsequently became a central part of his portfolio, including campaigns for Diesel and Filippa K. His Swedish connections remained visible through repeated work with H&M, including its spring 2013 menswear imagery. Magazine assignments included GQ Japan and King‘s October 2017 tailoring story, photographed by Frederik Lentz Andersen.

His modeling career continued well beyond that initial departure from sport, with a Louis Vuitton campaign in 2026 adding another chapter nearly two decades after his first Milan season.
