Lucas Mascarini

Lucas Mascarini is a Brazilian model from São Carlos, in the state of São Paulo, whose career began with a school fashion show. Spotted while taking part in the event, he won Brazil’s Elite Model Look competition in 2002 and moved to São Paulo in January 2003. Early assignments for Renner and Colcci gave him a professional start before his move into the international circuit, a progression documented in contemporary Brazilian coverage.

Jil Sander became an important early relationship. Lucas made his international runway debut as an exclusive for the house’s fall-winter 2005 show and also appeared in its advertising. Miu Miu subsequently cast him to open and close its spring-summer 2006 menswear show, while Prada became a repeat runway client. His red hair and blue eyes gave him a recognizable identity among the Brazilian men establishing themselves on the international circuit.

Advertising expanded that career beyond the runway. His clients include Lacoste and Aquascutum, while David Armstrong photographed him for Bottega Veneta’s cruise 2014 campaign. Editorial work brought him into publications such as GQ and L’Officiel Hommes, alongside continuing work in Brazilian fashion photography.

His connection to Brazil remained an active part of his career. In 2023, Hugo Toni photographed Lucas for Cidade Jardim’s “Temperatura Máxima” editorial, styled by Cuca Elias. The assignment came more than two decades after his competition win, adding another chapter to a career that began in São Carlos and developed through some of menswear’s most influential casting rooms.
