Evandro Soldati

Evandro Soldati is a Brazilian model from Ubá, Minas Gerais, whose international career includes advertising for Armani and Dolce & Gabbana and an appearance in Lady Gaga’s Alejandro music video. His rise coincided with the prominence of Brazilian men in international fashion during the 2000s, with magazine covers and major campaigns establishing him well before the video introduced him to a broader audience.

Speaking to Tpm, Evandro traced his start to a modeling notice at school and encouragement from his mother, who sent photographs to Ford. He moved to São Paulo at sixteen, then took an opportunity in New York after initially struggling to make modeling pay. Learning English was part of the adjustment; early on, he asked his agent to send job details by email so he could understand them.

A 2006 invitation to appear on the cover of L’Uomo Vogue helped him recognize how far his career had progressed. Photographer Steven Klein became an important collaborator and later brought him into Alejandro in 2010. His fashion work also included campaigns for Louis Vuitton and Benetton, placing him among the Brazilian faces regularly booked by international houses.

Success prompted its own reassessment. In a 2015 interview with Harper’s Bazaar Brasil, Evandro explained that he had moved to Rio de Janeiro to take a break after years in New York. Cycling and competing gave him time to focus on life away from fashion. He returned to modeling with renewed interest and a different relationship to the work, describing how his maturing appearance had opened up further possibilities for casting.

Established client relationships continued into that next chapter. For Dolce & Gabbana’s spring-summer 2020 campaign, he reunited with fellow campaign regulars Noah Mills and Adam Senn. The same year, he appeared in Frescobol Carioca’s summer advertising. His career reflects both the opportunities of an international modeling life and his decision to make room for a life beyond its schedule.
