Jeremy Young

Jeremy Young is a British model and photographer whose career connects Burberry’s late-2000s casting with a later practice behind the camera. His early work included the label’s fall-winter 2008 Black Label campaign, followed by further advertising and lookbook appearances. That association established an important thread in his portfolio, alongside runway work for Lanvin and Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Editorials for Another Man and Dazed & Confused placed Young within the fashion publishing of the period. His work subsequently extended into a more domestic register through collaborations with Swedish model Sara Blomqvist, whom he married in Cold Spring, New York, in July 2014. The couple appeared together in Banana Republic’s spring 2014 advertising and later reunited for Filippa K’s fall-winter 2018 campaign, photographed in upstate New York.

Their shared life also took them into hospitality. In a 2019 interview with British Vogue, Blomqvist recalled that they became partners in Scarr’s Pizza on New York’s Lower East Side in 2015 and welcomed a son the following year. Modeling formed part of a life that also encompassed family and a neighborhood business.

Photography became another professional outlet for Young. In 2024, he self-published Fold, a photographic book exploring the relationship between sandstone boulders in Fontainebleau and the female body. Its 32 plates were photographed in France and London in 2023, with Young making fibre-based prints before the images were scanned for publication. Inspired by the compression that creates folds in rock, the project studies how pressure shapes both stone and flesh.

His personal and commissioned photography developed alongside one another. For a 2024 Massimo Dutti edit, Young worked as both photographer and subject, producing a series of self-portraits. The assignment brought his two disciplines together, giving him responsibility for the image as well as the performance within it.
