Founded in 1983 by Franco Moschino, the Italian house has remained true to its playful and eccentric designs throughout the years. After the death of Moschino nine years after the launch of the label, former assistant Rossella Jardini took over as creative director. The menswear line, introduced in 1985, is well known for its mixture of opposing themes such as the pairing of leather jackets with classic tailored pants tucked into laced up leather boots. Moschino consummates the smartness of prep and the edginess old school rock ‘n’ roll with perfection. In 2006, Moschino designed the official outfits for the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Turin. The Italian house continued to gain brand recognition through designing the costumes for the tour of Kylie Minogue and Madonna. The Moschino brand consists of several diffusion lines including Love Moschino, Moschino Cheap and Chic and Moschino Jeans.
