Zara reunites with Madrid shoemaker Castellano for a spring-summer 2025 collection that grounds leisure in craftsmanship. Castellano, a name passed down since 1920, brings its signature 800 model loafers back into the conversation—this time through the filter of contemporary ease.
The styles arrive in both smooth leather and suede, dressed in rich tones: earthy brown, soft beige, and burgundy with the kind of gloss that recalls 1980s Italian vacation wear, the kind once seen on Lapo Elkann types who treated loafers like second skin.
Castellano 1920 x Zara Collection

Deck shoes feature prominently, nodding to the Spanish coast with a wink to Ivy League traditions. Brett Lloyd captures this intersection of old-world technique and youthful abandon in Menorca, where Kit Butler, Malick Bodian, and Francesco Cicerchia roam sunlit terrain.

The setting’s patina—whitewashed walls, sea air, and rough stone—frames the Castellano 1920 x Zara footwear in its natural element, giving each shoe the aura of something worn-in, but never tired.

This collaboration reads like a letter of respect between generations. Castellano’s expert construction meets Zara’s instinct for visual storytelling, producing pieces that straddle dress and informality.

The loafers feel as at home next to a worn bicycle as they do with a pressed Oxford, making the case for tradition—edited, remixed, and walked into a new season.
