Amid rumors that he could be headed to Versace, Riccardo Tisci departs Givenchy after a twelve year tenure. Tisci brought a dark Gothic edge to the French fashion house with his menswear most noticed for its fashion-forward approach to streetwear and tailoring. The designer also proved to be a master of prints.

Bernard Arnault on Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy

Talking exclusively to WWD about the news, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton chairman and chief executive Bernard Arnault shares, “The chapter Riccardo Tisci has written with the house of Givenchy over the last 12 years represents an incredible vision to sustain its continuous success, and I would like to warmly thank him for his core contribution to the house’s development.”

Riccardo Tisci on His Time at Givenchy

Reflecting on his tenure at Givenchy, Tisci adds, “I have very special affection for the House of Givenchy and its beautiful teams. I want to thank the LVMH Group and Monsieur Bernard Arnault for giving me the platform to express my creativity over the years. I now wish to focus on my personal interests and passions.”

Tisci’s most recent outing for Givenchy during Paris Fashion Week will be his last for the brand. With no news of a successor, Givenchy’s upcoming collections will be designed by its in-house design studio until further notice.
