For Flaunt magazine, British actor Owen Cooper is photographed ocean side in a story that places a youthful idleness against bold styling choices. The shoot, lensed by Martin Gatti and styled by Marisa Ellison, features Cooper in a mix of vintage-style sportswear and relaxed tailoring. At 15, Cooper is new to both fashion editorials and screen acting, but in both, he is holding space.

Cooper’s first role came in Adolescence, a Netflix drama series filmed entirely in single takes. The format was demanding, but the result was direct and unfiltered, with Cooper at its center. The show explores isolation and mental health among teens and is now being screened in UK schools.

“I didn’t want to do any drama in school,” Cooper says. “I don’t know why, I just didn’t.” He trained instead through Manchester’s Drama MOB, where still-frame exercises and holiday plays helped him break out of his shell.

That early confidence is now being translated into bigger projects. Cooper recently finished filming Wuthering Heights, where he appears alongside Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi. He also stars in the upcoming comedy series Film Club with Sex Education’s Aimee Lou Wood.

Through it all, Cooper keeps his focus on what matters. “I think every actor fears the one shot,” he says of Adolescence. “But when you do it, it’s great.” And when asked what he hopes the show leaves behind, he doesn’t hesitate.
“I hope that Adolescence can spark a conversation among parents with them talking to their kids more, making sure they’re not alone.” That clarity, in both performance and thought, is what makes Cooper one to watch.
