Mother Nature–Exploring the tension between people and nature, Cedric Jacquemyn creates a line of soft silhouettes with an apocalyptic edge for the spring/summer 2013 season. A comment upon the growing danger of human development upon the beauty of nature, the collection, titled, “Plains of Native Rites,” features hand knit sweaters, representing the decay of the organic environment, which are juxtaposed with streamlined tunics and jackets. Photographer Yves De Brabander, who shoots and directs the accompanying video, captures model Paco Klauser against a stark background, reflecting the bleak vision of the collection.
