Oak Tokyo–Purchased by American Apparel last summer, Oak, originally based out of Brooklyn has had quite the period of expansion. Opening its first stores outside New York, Paris and Los Angeles were the first offshoots. With sights on a second Los Angeles location, particularly Beverly Boulevard, Oak now turns its attention to a Tokyo store to be located at 1-23-25 3F Shibuya. Oak co-founder Louis Terline explains “OAK is a New York brand, started in Brooklyn. We will always be New Yorkers but as New Yorkers we love to travel and meet new people, learn new things and new ways to do things – that’s why we’re so excited to be able to open up shop in fashion capitols like these.”
