Drawing fall’s inspiration from a historical cast of unlikely characters, Laitinen looks to Finnish juvenile prisoners of the 19th century for today’s dresscode. Comprised of drifters, cross-dressers, bankrupt aristocrats, runaway soldiers and others, fall’s collection reinterprets the prisoner uniform of their own existence that was mended until the last glimpse of life. Baring an eclectic nature, the range picks up on the concept of hand me downs to build a rich wardrobe of oversized outerwear, capes and wraps. Rounding off the collection of lovable misfits, a vivid array of prints add color to a somber black and gray color palette.
