Turning out must-have items like an oversized double-breasted coat, Gucci embraces plaid for its fall-winter 2016 men’s collection.

When it comes to Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele and his well-received direction at the Italian fashion house, it looks like the label’s love affair with 1970s style is here to stay for a while. Continuing to develop his androgynous spin on the beloved decade, Michele looked to Italian designer Walter Albini for inspiration. Known for his tailored suiting and bold cuts, Albini designed for men with himself in mind. Michele followed the notion, seeing the Gucci man’s image as a reflection of his own fashion aspirations.

The results included a myriad of patterns and colors blended together for quite the eclectic wardrobe. Taking to the catwalk in oversized glasses, dressing gowns, patterned loafers and a mix of character-driven hats, models unveiled the fall-winter 2016 collection. Brazen floral prints and plaids made the most significant impact as Michele delivered a range of tracksuits, flared trousers, cardigan sweaters, double-breasted coats and capes.
