Dolce & Gabbana CNN Interview

Hot on the heels of their Swide editorial director resigning, Dolce & Gabbana designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana sat down with CNN for an exclusive interview to discuss their comments about IVF. Defending his right to an opinion, Dolce reinforced, “I believe in the traditional family. It is impossible to change my culture for something different. It’s me…I respect all the world, all the culture.” However, in a surprising turn, Gabbana revealed that his own opinions on IVF differ from Dolce. Despite coming to Dolce’s defense for the right to share his own personal opinion, the designer revealed that he has no issue with IVF. Gabbana explained, “Yeah, I don’t have anything bad, because the beauty of the world is freedom.” Dolce added, “Every people [has] freedom for choosing what they want. This for me is democracy. I respect you because you choose what you want. I respect me because I choose what I want…This just my point of private view.”

Madonna on Dolce & Gabbana Controversy

Madonna, who has appeared in numerous campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana as well as wearing its designs for performances and events, finally gave her opinion on the controversy. Taking to her Instagram, Madonna shared a past Dolce & Gabbana campaign image featuring her and a baby. Her caption read, “All babies contain a soul however they come to this earth and their families. There is nothing synthetic about a soul!! So how can we dismiss IVF and surrogacy? Every soul comes to us to teach us a lesson.”
