Dior Homme embraces the skinny black suit for its fall-winter 2016 collection.

Fresh off a season where formal attire was the central focus, Dior Homme creative director Kris Van Assche turned the spotlight on young inspirations of the yesteryears. Fusing the fashion brand’s tailored heritage with ideas of New Wave and skater style, Van Assche turned out a fun fall-winter 2016 collection. Models took to the catwalk with black polished nails, wearing slim-cut suiting, western style bow-ties, relaxed trousers, oversized coats with piping and quilted parkas.

Red and black checks also entered the mix, dressing timeless staples such as the shirt jacket as well as smart separates. Adding an edge to his man, Van Assche also executed voluminous pants, shirting and outerwear, dressed in leather. Raw threads contributed to an unfinished element that added a graphic appeal to straight-cut coats, skinny trousers and pull-overs. Incorporating a rose print into the collection, Van Assche once again made a tribute to designer Christian Dior, who favored the flower. The print was juxtaposed with black and red checks for a fresh style moment.
