Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli took on new romantic style for his fall-winter 2018 collection. The theme resulted in Piccioli scaling back on prints and colors, in favor of a minimal mood. Proposing a quiet rebellion, details came in subtle doses. Inspired by The Cure, Piccioli added embellishments like studs to shoulders. The collection also included tonal graphic prints. However, the range celebrated a fluidity in silhouettes at its core. Dressed in navy and black, a cohesive lineup turned out practical pieces with relaxed tailoring. Embodying a modern sophistication, the Valentino man took to the catwalk in open coats, trim track pants, short bomber jackets, crewneck sweaters, and refined parkas. White sneakers completed the accessible looks.
