Givenchy Looks to Korean Street Culture to Inspire Spring ’20 Collection

The Fashionisto / Published June 16, 2019

Seoul, South Korea is the starting point for Givenchy’s latest outing. The city’s street culture and youth inspire the fashion house’s spring-summer 2020 men’s collection. Artistic director Clare Waight Keller references Seoul’s unique hypersensitivity to fashion and style for the occasion. She blurs the lines between traditional tailoring and athletic-inspired apparel. A relaxed silhouette overtakes the season as a chic casualness strengthens to a well-rounded wardrobe. Long double-breasted coats and baggy trousers complement sneakers, while fitted tanks and wide-leg pants bring to mind the attitude of the ’90s. Meanwhile, vibrant bursts of color such as orange and red offset blue and neutral tones.
