Kim Jones took to Tokyo to present Dior Men’s pre-fall 2019 collection. Fittingly so, Jones juxtaposed a classic notion of grey with the soft gesture of Japan’s cherry blossom. Relaxed tailoring arrived in the form of pleated trousers, asymmetrical suit jackets, and belted coats. Dior’s man also showed a penchant for black leather boots, bringing a masculine edge to iridescent prints and the metallic finish of statement pieces like a puffer jacket. In addition to ribbed knits, printed cargo pants, technical bombers, and boxy tops, the collection also captured an aspect of Japanese culture with its kimono-inspired numbers.
