Bottega Veneta celebrates fifty years of the Intrecciato leather weave with a campaign that keeps handcraft at the center of the conversation. The advertisement, titled “Craft is our Language,” pairs Jack Davison’s photography with choreography by Lenio Kaklea.

Hand gestures act as a quiet form of expression, honoring the labor-intensive process that has shaped Bottega Veneta’s signature leather weave since 1975.

Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Leather Campaign

Bottega Veneta’s new campaign presents the Intrecciato as more than a technique. It is a living craft that continues to evolve, staying at the heart of the house’s identity.

Leather strips, woven with care, create a soft, textured surface that carries the weight of time and skill. In these black and white images, the textures and shadows tell a story of dedication and care.

This visual language connects the artisans who shape the leather with the creative figures who bring fresh energy to Bottega Veneta’s vision. The campaign’s portraits of musicians, actors, and makers show that craft as an exchange that crosses generations and disciplines.

Bottega Veneta also draws from Italy’s design past, paying tribute to Milanese artist Bruno Munari and his 1963 book Supplemento al Dizionario Italiano, a study of expressive Italian hand gestures.

In these images, the gestures carry meaning and link tradition with the present, reinforcing the belief that craft is a language that connects people across cultures.

The cast reflects the house’s creative vision. Director Dario Argento, filmmaker Dave Free, designer Edward Buchanan, singer I.N, producer Jack Antonoff, tennis player Lorenzo Musetti, conductor Lorenzo Viotti, actor Terrance Lau, actor Troy Kotsur, and music artist Tyler, The Creator bring distinct style and presence. Styled by Robbie Spencer, their portraits highlight the tactile elegance of Bottega Veneta’s craft.

Altogether, Bottega Veneta’s campaign captures a moment of reflection and renewal. It’s a study of how a single material, shaped by patient hands, carries history and keeps finding new ways to be seen.
