Looking to give Lanvin’s soft image a harder edge, designer Lucas Ossendrijver looked to the streets to see what real men are wearing. The result is his version of the “anti-uniform.” High-waist tapered trousers compliment the restrained volume seen in the collection’s jackets and blazers. Ballooned sleeves add the occasional drama, while red, green, orange and purple add color to the otherwise dark collection. Rebellious jackets, well-tailored, but cut at the sleeves or bold two-piece leather numbers provide the collection’s desired edge. Simple and dulled or shiny and new, the Lanvin man is defying the standard silhouettes for a daring high risk look next spring.
