The Eclectic Traveler–Lining the runway in colorful rugs, pointing to faraway travels, Missoni sent their man on a trip for the spring/summer 2013 season. Toying with the idea of incorporating aspects of different cultures into one’s mode of dress, Angela Missoni set about reworking laid-back essentials like the henley or cardigan with special fabrics from south-east Asia. Combined with heritage prints, the collection was a fantastic sight with field jackets, bombers and other pieces being weaved into Missoni’s often soft selection. Meanwhile safari shorts and trousers were constructed as knitwear and placed among a range, rich in accessories, ranging from oversize totes to desert boots featuring rich embroidery.
Dashing Divers–For its debut issue, Axel Magazine pays tribute to the Summer 2012 Olympics with a splash-worthy editorial titled, “Olympic Heroes,” featuring Sight models Alejandro Rodríguez, Ferran Calderon, Knut Roertveit, and Graham Winfield. In the lens of photographer YOYE, the models embrace the strength of an Olympian, juxtaposed against the crisp, geometric lines of the swimming pool. Outfitted by Esau Yori in labels such as Dries van Noten, Dior Homme, and Marc Jacobs, the poised men are sleek and pristine above the shimmering reflection of the pool. / Grooming by Inma Cifre.
