Hollywood’s leading men seem to have a refocused affection for the fragrance campaign. Johnny Depp has been tapped to front his first, for Dior. Depp’s campaign will make its debut in September of this year. The 51 year-old actor follows in the footsteps of Robert Pattinson as a Dior brand ambassador. Updating its official Instagram, Dior shared, “The house of Dior is about to reveal a new territory for men with Johnny Depp as its iconic ambassador. Save the date, September 2nd.”
WWD linked up with The Message Inc. chief executive officer Louise Rosen for thoughts with the luxury brand consulting expert sharing, “Johnny Depp is a mainstream eccentric. It’s quite a contradiction, and it is the key conundrum that perfume houses are permanently trying to solve: How to please everyone — to maximize sales — and at the time be unique, novel, original — to cut through the market noise.
