Rei Kawakubo’s fall-winter 2015 menswear collection for Comme des Garçons was entitled The Power of Ceremony and in that aspect, she didn’t disappoint. The designer presented a series of interpretations on the suit, cut and sliced together with various patterns and colors. Shattering lines, the collection revealed a series of pinstripe jackets, coordinated with suiting shorts. Tailored askew, proportions shifted as Kawakubo cleared the season’s palette for an eccentric tattoo print that enveloped shrunken separates, which fit like a second skin. Adding leather pieces and jackets, bursting at the seams to looks embellished with ruffles and a zebra print, Kawakubo delivered zany style suggestions in tenfolds.
