Photographed by Art Streiber, Unbroken director Angelina Jolie joins the movie’s co-stars, Jack O’Connell and Miyavi for the latest cover of Variety. Hitting theaters on December 25th in the United States, the film adaptation of Laura Hillenbrand’s successful book Unbroken, follows the story of the late Louis Zamperini, who was on a search and rescue mission during World War II, when his plane went down in the Pacific. After being lost at sea, he was captured and sent to a Japanese prison camp, where he was starved and tortured for two years, before returning home. Interviewed for the story, Zamperini’s daughter Cynthia discussed the close relationship he fostered with Jolie working on the project, sharing, “”The night our father passed away, she and Brad came to our home and took such beautiful care of us. They cried with us, they held us, they made a soft place for us to fall. At one point I told her, ‘My father was really in love with you.’ And she said, ‘I was in love with him!'” Read more at Variety.com.
